The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of supporting the “CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2024” (CMA-IR Awards).

This strategic collaboration will position CSE as the strategic partner of the Awards, which focuses on promoting integrated reporting practices amongst listed entities and other key institutions in Sri Lanka.

The CMA-IR Awards serve as a platform to promote excellence in integrated reporting across various sectors, recognizing organizations that effectively communicate on how they create value over time. The Awards highlight the importance of integrated reporting in promoting transparency and accountability, which are critical for investor confidence.

Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike, CEO of the Colombo Stock Exchange, commented, “We are pleased to support an initiative that encourages companies to adopt best practices in building a sustainable, ethical, and responsible corporate culture. By providing a holistic view of long-term value creation, companies foster trust among investors, strengthening the resilience, attractiveness, and competitiveness of our capital markets in line with global sustainability trends.”

Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, President of CMA & Chairman of CMA-IR Awards, stated, “On this 10th Anniversary we mark this significant milestone by having the Colombo Stock Exchange as our Strategic Partner for the 2024 awards. This collaboration highlights our mutual dedication to promoting high standards of Integrated Reporting and Value Creation.”

The partnership underscores the commitment of both organizations to enhance corporate governance and sustainability practices in the Sri Lankan capital market.
