Meanwhile, the Northern Naval Command became the runner up in men’s swimming and the Western Naval Command secured the runner up title in women’s swimming. The second places in men’s and women’s Water Polo were won by Eastern Naval Command and Western Naval Command respectively.
In men’s swimming, Midshipman HRL Perera from the Training Command was adjudged the best amateur swimmer where as in women’s swimming Sub Lieutenant WSN Jayawickrama won the award for the best amateur swimmer. Commodore HHMP De Silva won the award for the best swimmer in over 40 -year -old age category and Petty Office RAHMRK Rajakaruna won the award for the best swimmer in over 35 -year -old age category.
The prize awarding of Inter-command Swimming and Water Polo Championship – 2022 was held under the patronage of Director General (Budget & Finance), Rear Admiral Chandana Rathnayake at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara. Officers and sailors from the Navy Headquarters and Western Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
