In normal times, the ceremonies offered to a foreign envoy in Sweden are unique and which are steeped in centuries-old tradition. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic related protocol, the ceremonies for Solemn Audiences are held on a smaller scale, with some elements of the traditions adapted in line with the current situation. The ceremonies associated with Tuesday’s Solemn Audience included salutary reception by the Marshals and First Marshal of the Royal Court, as well as the Royal flag salutation etc.
The formal audience granted to Ambassador Perera, follows the presentation of Credentials on 22 March 2021 by special arrangement as per the health protocol prevailing at the time.
