Government is taking maximum measures to curb the pandemic - Minister Douglas Devananda

    May 10, 2021

Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda has stated that there is no point in implementing a complete lockdown on the whole country to curtail the Coronavirus and that the government is taking maximum measures to curb the pandemic.

The Minister of Fisheries stated this at a media briefing held in Vavuniya recently.

He further added that most of the other countries have not implemented complete lockdowns and that a complete lockdown would disturb the daily lives of many citizens in the country. Nevertheless, the Minister assured that curtailing the spread of the Covid-19 would be easier if the public strictly adhered to the Covid-19 health and safety regulations.
