State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control, Sudarshini Fernandopulle stated that the Health Ministry does not allow any kinds of mass gatherings during the festive season and the public is asked to follow the existing Covid – 19 guidelines.
The State Minister further said, although the number of Covid-19 infected has been reduced to a certain extent, existing Covid-19 restrictions will be in effect as there is a risk of an increase in the spread of the virus following the festive season.
Pinpointing the emergence of the third wave in several countries, the State Minister emphasized that the precautionary measures taken would be maintained and the rules would not be tightened any further.
