These Batik Training Centers are already operating in Galgamuwa, Jaffna, Polonnaruwa, and Pannala. The Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel conducts training for 30 individuals every three months in these centers.
The State Ministry of Batik, Handloom, and Local Apparel Products is already in the process of setting up 200 batik handicraft training centers called "Helasalu Piyasa" equipped with modern technology.
The State Minister further said that five more machines, including two whoppers and a winding machine, will be added to the training center to accelerate the production and output process and in addition to the small allowance received by the training instructors working at these centers, a Constant Attendance Allowance will also be provided.
