The ‘Shake Hands - 1’ military exercise, which was initiated under the conceptual guidance given by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General ShavendraSilva, is currently being conducted at the Gajaba Regiment premises in Saliyapura. The exercise will be held with the participation of Sri Lanka Army and Pakistan Army personnel until March 31.
Six officers and 35 other ranks of the Pakistan Army and four officers and 40 other ranks of the Sri Lanka Army will participate in the event. This Exercise was organized under the
supervision of the Director General Infantry Major General Thilak Hangilipola and the Directorate of Infantry, AHQ. Brigadier Sanjeewa Fernando is acting as the Director and
Colonel WSL Hemaratne is the Deputy Director of the exercise.
