Nimal Siripala de Silva, Minister of Labour has requested to provide information on those who lost their employment in the private sector due to the difficulties in going to work during the Covid 19 epidemic period or due to dismissal by the relevant institution due to the pandemic to the Labour Department.
The Minister said that the census will be conducted with the aim of gathering information and data on the impact of the Covid 19 epidemic on private-sector employees in Sri Lanka and if there is any relief that can be provided, it will be implemented in the future.
Therefore, Commissioner General of Labour, Prabath Chandrakeerthi requested such individuals to send their information on name, address, telephone number, place of employment, date of dismissal, service and last received a basic salary to the address, Commissioner General of Labour (Industrial Relations), 11th Floor, Mehewara Piyasa, Colombo 05.
