Head, NOCPCO welcomed all members and briefed current developments. He pointed out that 80% of the Minuwangoda cluster is positive to the virus and told them immediate first contacts and second contacts of those infected ones have now been traced and kept in quarantine at specific places or in their households themselves as coordinated by both troops and Public Health Inspectors and Epidemiologists working in those areas.
It was agreed that isolation curfew should be continued until the end of this week. The meeting was also told that the infection of the 1st positive case would have occurred between 10-20 September according to intelligence.
The capacities of hospitals and allocations of hospitals at district levels in the event of any emergency were also re-visited and reviewed and the acting DGHS sought Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva's assistance to expand admission possibilities for patients in the North in case any emergency arises.
Responding to the request, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO told the meeting that the Army would be ready with 100 beds in the event of any emergency in the North and all arrangements with necessary accessories could also be made available.
