The Draft Bill of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was presented in parliament this morning by the Justice Minister Ali Sabri.
During the presentation of the Bill the Opposition members expressed their displeasure and protested by chanting various slogans and displaying placards in a bid to disrupt the presenting of the Bill.
Despite the Opposition continuing with their protest, the Bill was tabled and the Speaker of the House allowed the government to continue with the proceedings.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
