Of the two injured persons receiving treatment at the Panadura Hospital, one of them has a prior conviction of heroin possession in November 2018 and had been arrested by the Panadura South Police.
The other injured suspect had been produced in court by the Panadura South Police for possession of heroin in November 2018 and remanded, but he had escaped. He was also found to be engaged in heroin racketeering in July 2018, involved in an assault in December 2018, and again in April 2019 he had again been arrested by the Panadura South Police for heroin possession. These details were revealed during the investigation carried out regarding these suspects.
The other suspect is currently being interrogated by the Egoda Uyana Police and investigations are underway to determine if these suspects were involved in transporting drugs, the Police Media said.
