Despite the prevailing curfew imposed in the country, the distribution of essential supplies is being carried out without any hindrance, said the Information Department Director-General Nalaka Kaluwewa.
He said that the relevant instructions have been issued to the police. While provisions have been made for lorries to purchase vegetables and other essential items and they have been given special permission, enabling them to sell their produce.
Under the current situation in the country, the government has taken steps to enable suppliers to sell their goods without having to suffer losses.
