The Election Commission will select a date fourteen days from the 30th of April 2020 as the day for the poll and the Gazette notification publicizing this date would be issued by the Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya. The official gazette notification on the has been issued yesterday (21).
The parliamentary election has been postponed without a definitive date, but this date would definitely be a date after the 14th of May.
The Extraordinary Gazette stated that the decision has been taken due to the Covid -19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.
