With the aim of further strengthening the health protection programme further, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Finance Minister has decided to waive off all taxes on imported face masks and sanitizers with effect from midnight today (18).
Accordingly, the aforementioned imported goods have been subjected to the Special Commodity Levy Act.
This decision has been taken taking into consideration the demand for face masks and sanitizers in the country to safeguard against the Covid-19 virus.
