In compliance with the Presidential directive, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva has directed all island-wide Army formations to display only the State emblem and the Army crest in all Army offices, instead of any other portraits.According to the President's directive, all military establishments in the country have been asked to display only the State Emblem and the respective insignia instead of portraits.
The Commander of the Army has accordingly instructed the Directorate of Personnel Administration in the Army to keep all Army establishments informed of this directive with immediate effect for necessary action.The Army was among one of the firsts to implement the Presidential directive.
