The Department of Registration of Persons states that temporary identity cards will be issued to 300,000 voters before November 10.The temporary identity card will be issued only for those who have requested an identity card, said the Commissioner General of the Department, Viyani Gunatilake.
All information contained in the National Identity Card will be printed on a special secure sheet with the signature of the Commissioner General of Registration of Persons.The Department of Registration of Persons said that IDs will be provided to the people through the relevant Grama Niladhari officers.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
