If it is proven that anyone from our camp had been with the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday bomb attacks, Zahran, we will take action against him, said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Addressing an election rally in Kiribathgoda, the Prime Minister said the Parliamentary Select Committee looking into the Easter bomb attacks had recommended a probe to determine whether any politician had associated with Zahran and if the UNF was condoning it.
“The select committee recommendation was welcome and we will take action against anyone in our camp if it is found out that he had links with Zahran,” the Prime Minister said. “The SLPP candidate should state why he was rejecting the select committee recommendations” he added.“SLPP candidate should also tender a public apology for arresting Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka in 2010” he also said.
