The Department of Meteorology today issuedWarning for Severe Lightning and Heavy Rain says that thundershowers accompanied by severe lightningare likely to occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura and Vavuniya districts in the evening or night.
Fairly heavy falls about (75-100) mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara districts.Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmphare also possible during thundershowers., it said.
