The Church was restored with the assistance of the Navy and reopened with a special service conducted by the Archbishop of Colombo.

Relatives of those killed in the attack as well as those who sustained injuries were among those present. Those killed in the Easter Sunday terror attacks were remembered while wishes were extended for the immediate recovery of those who sustained injuries. A large gathering of devotees attended the festive mass. The Church authorities have decided not to hold the feast this year on a grand scale due to those who died and sustained injuries in the terror attacks.
