The provision of relief, the amount of compensation for the injured, those with long term disability and, those killed, would be decided by a separate new office, the Premier disclosed. The Premier also said that the government had decided to grant relief to the businesses affected by the downturn in the tourism industry following the Easter Sunday attacks. This will be done through the Finance Ministry and the related circulars have been directed to all the banks by the Central Bank Governor.
He added that he had mentioned this matter to the related Miniter as well. Premier Wickreamesinghe also said that several European countries have lifted their travel advisories on Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister made these observations in response to a query made by Opposition Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardena.The PM also said that he had discussed with the Opposition regarding provision of compensation to the victims of the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
