Former Chief Minister of Southern Province Shan Wijayalal de Silva has been appointed as the new Governor of the Eastern Province. He was sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena, a short while ago, at the presidential secretariat in Colombo, the President’s Media Division said.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
