The foundation stone for the Alms Giving hall at St. Anthony Shrine in Kochchikade which is being constructed with the assistance of Sri Lanka navy, was laid by Most Rev. Cardinal Filoni of Vatican, today (22nd May). The Archbishop of Colombo Most Rev. Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna and large number of naval personnel were also present on this occasion. Further, Most Rev. Cardinal Filoni who brought the condolences message of His Holiness Pope Francis, conveyed his sympathies and looked into the getting on of the victim people by the attack. He also got time off to talk with the Naval personnel who were engaging in the renovation work of the church.
