The Police Headquarters says that so far nine complaints have been received regarding the forthcoming Local Government election.
According to the Police Spokesman, SP Ruwan Gunasekara these complaints were recorded between 9th December and 6.00 a.m. this morning (21st Dec.).
Mr. Gunasekara added that incidents of assaults, threatening, stealing a nominations list, damages caused to posters and cutouts and the distribution of goods are among the complaints received.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
