    Report on Dengue prevention handed over to Health Minister

    The report compiled by a group of representatives of WHO with the plans to reduce dengue mosquito density and the number of dengue patients in the country by 50 percent within four weeks was handed over to the Minister of Health Dr. Rajitha Senarathne yesterday (10th July).


    The WHO had named four doctors to the team representing India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka and they visited throughout the country to prepare this report.

     


    The report indicates that with the spread of dengue disease, the treatment services in hospitals have been implementing properly and controlling the death toll is a positive situation. It was also revealed that the mosquito density in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia has also increased.

     

    Meanwhile, the group of representatives also made the Cabinet of Ministers aware regarding this report this morning.
