This meritorious act was made assisting their program, “North-South Brotherhood”, under the able leadership of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and the guidance of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva.

The Northern Province Governor had initiated this program to assist those battered by the adverse weather condition due to the flash floods and landslides.

Accordingly, 1,000 packs of dry rations and 495 water bottles of 5 liters were handed over to the Governor under the patronage of the Deputy Commander Northern Naval Area, Commodore HRP Gunawardhana.
