National event to mark the 'World Kidney Day' which fell on 9th March will be held today (13th March) in Matale under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
Number of awareness programs on prevention of renal disease aiming school children and the community has been organized under this event themed ‘A Healthy life style for a Healthy Kidney’.
The president will also open the new Kidney Unit of the Vilgamuwa hospital.
The 'World Kidney Day' is commemorated on the second Thursday of March each year.
