A group of 2,477 Civil Security Department (CSD) personnel were attached to the Police yesterday (10th Jan.) following the instructions given by President Maithripala Sirisena and directions of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi.
Attached CSD personnel will be assigned for security duties of sites, courts and houses. They will also under take duties as patrol duty assistant and mobile duty assistant of the police.
Accordingly, 5000 CSD personnel will be attached to Wilpattu, Anuradhapura, Horowpathana, Uhana, Kebithigollewa, Welioya, Mahaoya, Ampara, Puttalam, Trincomalee, Gomarankadawala, Seruwila, Polonnaruwa, Madirigiriya, Mulativu, Kilinochchi and Monaragala police stations.
