State Minister of Defense Ruwan Wijewardene officially unveiled and declared open the 'Cedric' boat for public display at the Naval Museum in Trincomalee on Monday (31st Oct.).
The craft formally known as arrow boat has been named as 'Cedric' as a tribute to late Commander (VNF) Cedric Martenstyn, on his 70th birth anniversary.
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne together with Late Commander Cedric Martenstyn formed the SBS squadron in October 1993, in order to fight against LTTE sea tigers. Cdr Martenstyn designed the boat using his knowledge on Speed Boats and Outboard Motors.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
