“As the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, my duty is to assure the democracy of the public of this country, not to protect a particular political party”, he added.

According to the Minister Mustapha all the political parties have complained the delimitation process of wards have not been done properly. Therefore a committee has been appointed representing all the political parties to receive appeals regarding this.

He said “I expect to hold this election after solving these issues. If not it is like being against the public vote gained by the President”.

Minister pointing out the inability to hold the election against the existing law, requested all the political parties to give a reasonable time period to consider the appeals received and to solve them.
