Accordingly the first term for Sinhala and Tamil schools will commence on  January 04 and will end on April 08.  The first term for Muslim schools would start on 04 January and will end on 11 April.

The second term for Sinhala and Tamil schools will be held from 25 April to 29 July and the third term from 31 August to 02 December.

For Muslim Schools, the second term would be held in two phases. The first phase of the second term would be held from 18 April to 03 June.  The Muslim Schools will close from 06 June to 06 July for Ramazan and will reopen for the second phase on 07 July. The second phase of the second term will conclude on 12 August.

The third term for Muslim schools will be held from, 22 August to 02 December, The Ministry of Education announced.
