The Minister said that there are about 5800 workers who were taken from Manpower Supplies Division for the Electricity Board. They first planned to look into the qualifications of the workers taken on a casual basis and grant them permanent appointments.
He said that their attention has been drawn to finding a solution to the issue safeguarding the intellectual property rights.
The Minister was addressing an electricity mobile service. He said that at present 97 percent of houses enjoy electricity and that action would be initiated to grant power supplies to the balance three percent as soon as possible. Several Parliamentarians were present on the occasion.
