State Minister plans to develop DMC as a global responder to assist countries affected by disasters
May 17, 2023We want to develop our disaster management sector to be on par with global standards; therefore, we intend to develop the Disaster Management Centre as a global responder to assist countries affected by disasters.
The Federative Republic of Brazil through the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) donated to Sri Lanka a consignment of medical supplies including 10, 000 vials of regular human insulin and 08 million polypropylene tips.
Three new Governors sworn in today
May 17, 2023Three new governors were sworn in before President Ranil Wickramasinghe at the Presidential Secretariat today (17).
Mr. Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena was elected as the Governor of the North-Western (Wayamba) Province, Mrs. P.S.M. Charles was appointed as the Governor of the Northern Province and Mr. Senthil Thondaman was appointed as the Governor of the Eastern Province.
President’s Secretary Mr. Saman Ekanayake was also present at the ceremony.
The Perahera of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone was colourfully held on the night of 06th May 2023.
