MP Tissa Attanayake has been expelled from the United National Party. The Working Committee of the Party which met today has taken this decision. Former General Secretary of the UNP Tissa Attanayake has been expelled from the United National Party as he worked against the decisions of the Party during the period of the previous Presidential Election.
Mr. Attanayake is currently at the Remand Prison. He has been remanded for allegedly preparing forged documents against then Opposition Candidate and present President Maithripala Sirisena and then Opposition Leader and present Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.
