Two fishermen on board a fishing trawler which had been drifting in the seas off Trincomalee after developing an engine failure were saved by the Sri Lanka Navy Ship 'Sayurala' on Tuesday (12th).
The fishing craft,"Lesan 4" had left the Trincomalee fishery harbor last month (May) for fishing. While engaged in fishing the craft had developed an engine fault and begun to drift in the deep sea. Upon being informed of the craft in distress; 'Sayurala' had rushed to the location and rescued the two fishermen amidst rough seas,198 nautical miles off Foul Point.
Later, the two fishermen and their craft were safely brought to the Naval Harbour in Trincomalee
