    NLB donates Rs 10 million to National Kidney Fund

    The National Lotteries Board, Wednesday (23) handed over a cheque for Rs 10 million to be deposited in the National Kidney Fund to Minister of Finance Mr Ravi Karunanayake.

    National Kidney Fund was established in line with the sustainable program to control kidney disease, according to a concept of the President Maithripala Sirisena



    The National Lotteries Board on the instruction of the Minister Ravi karunanayake launched a new lottery under the name of “Niroga” recently and its first draw was held in July. The Lottery has received the fullest support of the people of Sri Lanka and as a result, the Lotteries Board was able to present this amount of Rs 10 million as revenue accrued from the lottery sale.



    The Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board Attorney-at- Law Mrs Shyamila Perera handed over the cheque to Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake at a ceremony held at the Finance ministry on Wednesday morning. Secretary to Finance ministry Dr. R.H.S. Samarathunghe and Mr Nalaka Kaluwewa General Manager/NLB were also present on the occasion.
