He pointed out that the Summit will bring together nrg4SD members, representatives from other regional governments, as well as environmental groups, academics and industry, to work towards common approaches to implementing climate policies on the ground, and facilitate dialogue among sub-national governments and other relevant stakeholders.
The primary objectives of this summit are to Provide a forum for government, academic, business and environmental leaders to discuss and advance strategies for implementing climate strategies on the ground, Identify opportunities for collaboration that will result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions and promote resilience to climate change , Facilitate continued dialogue and strengthen cooperation among subnational governments and other relevant stakeholders, Explore the role of sub-national governments up to and beyond the 2015 Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in Paris, France, Develop and deliver a policy paper on the implementation of adaptation and mitigation strategies by sub-national government, he added.
