Due to the convergence of wind flows the possibility for rain over the southern parts of the country and over the sea areas off the southern coast is very high. There is a risk of heavy rainfalls and strong winds during showers.
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Central provinces. Showers can be expected at several places in the Northwestern province too.
Thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the period from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Southwest monsoonal winds can strengthen up to 50-60 kmph at times over the country (particularly over central hills) and Northwestern & Southeastern sea areas.
