The Met Dept. predicts light showers to occur at several places in the sea area off the coast extending from Jaffna to Hambanthota via Colombo and Galle.
Showers or thundershowers will develop at several places in the sea areas around the island after 2 pm . Winds will be Southwesterly and speed will be 20-40 kmph.
Gulf of Mannar sea area will be fairly rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50kmph at times, the Met Dept. further states.
Also sea areas may be temporally rough since there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
