The facilities to recharge electric motor cars are not enough in the country and as a solution to the problem, steps have been taken to setup electric charging centres island wide, Power and Energy Ministry Secretary Suren Batagoda said.

Batagoda further said that as an initial step a charging centre was setup in Borella by Eco. The Electricity Board has been asked to repair a special charging method for electric charging stations.

He said that they expect about 15 to 20 thousand electric cars in the country within the next few years.
