Showers will occur in several places in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the other sea areas during the period from 2 pm to 8 pm, the Met Dept. forecasts.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph. Winds speed can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.
The sea area extending from Puttalam to Kankasanturai via Mannar and Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 60 kmph at times. The other sea areas around the island will be fairly rough at times.
