The sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanturai and Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 60 kmph at times, the Met Dept. says. The other sea areas around the island will be fairly rough at times.
There will be showers in several places in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the other sea areas during the period from 2 pm to 8 pm.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph. Winds speed can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.
