Postal voting for the forthcoming General Election took place in a peaceful atmosphere in the Batticaloa district yesterday.
Police and Army personnel scheduled for general election duty and teachers due to take part in GCE Advanced Level examination exercised their postal votes yesterday.
The District election office said 9,842 people have qualified to cast postal votes at 176 postal voting centres in the district.
