The Ministry of Health has commenced inspecting boutiques near all schools with the aim of saving school students from taking to drugs. Various varieties of drugs including pain killers are being sold at the boutiques which are situated near schools.
The Health Ministry has issued a special circular in this regard on the instructions of Health Minister, for health officials including Regional Health Services Directors, District Food Inspectors and Public Health Inspectors .
The circular has empowered the high ranking health officials to inspect all small trade stalls near the schools. Director General of Health Services has instructed them to take legal action against such traders and also to get the assistance of Police for raids.
