The well-known mountain range popularly known as Fox Hill draws thousands of eager motor racing enthusiasts and holiday goers annually to the Fox Hill super cross race and other public events and as a result the ecological system has witnessed a negative impact over years, Defence media reported.
Under the first phase of the project troops under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) will plant 1000 indigenous and fruit plants. Initially reforestation will be carried out in a 3.75 acre plot identified as a worst affected area.
The green project will get off the ground with the support of state agencies, school children and tri-service personnel with the launching of 'Foxhill Green walk' from the centre of the town to the 'Foxhill' mountain range on Friday (24).
