Action would be taken to raid canteens and food outlets close to schools island wide with the assistance of Public Health Inspectors, Director General of Health Services Dr.Palitha Maheepala said.
Addressing a media conference held at Bandaranaike International Airport Health Centre, Dr.Maheepala said the decision to raid canteens and food outlets close to schools was taken due to illegal and unhealthy soft drinks and sweets that were reported to be sold at various shops, especially close to schools.
He further said that it is expected to carry out raids for two days in the near future.
