Welcoming the Invitees State Secretary of Defence APG Kithsiri highlighted the objective of the 'Ranaviru Special Rewards Identity Card', which is aimed at facilitating War Heroes and their families and differently-able War Heroes to enjoy special benefits from state and private sector entities.
Speaking at the meeting State Minister Wijewardene enlightened those present on the official inauguration of the scheme, which is planned to held on 26th July under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Defence Media reported.
The State Minister stressed the importance of giving priority in the society for the family members of fallen war heroes, differently-able service personnel, those who have secured their retirement on medical grounds and those who are in active service for their noble service and sacrifice in saving the nation from the scourge of terrorism.
In this process they would be issued with a 'Special Reward Identity Card' which would open up new avenue to them to get their work done without delay and also many more facilities form any organization and Minister Wijewardene also emphasized on the importance of providing proper recognition for same.
Chairperson of the Ranaviru Seva Authority Mrs Anoma Fonseka also addressed the gathering.
Defence Ministry officials, tri-forces, police and CSD representatives and a number of heads/representatives of government and private sector institutions were also present at the meeting.
