The ceremony was held under the patronage of Minister of Public Order and Christian Affairs John Amaratunga. Education State Minister V Radhakrishnan was also present at the occasion.
Upon opening of the new learning facility at the school, the guests made an inspection visit of the school and took time to speak with the students and the staff.
Speaking at the ceremony State Minister Wijewardene said it is customary for an incumbent government to open projects initiated by a former administration and this is one such instance. It is the responsibility of public representatives to act with responsibility and set examples especially to school children without attempting to cause disruptions and set a bad model to the children, he further added.
He also requested all to work in unity setting aside political difference towards the betterment of the country.
