A special healthcare programme will be in effect under the supervision of the provincial Health Services Director and Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital director during the festive season.
The Old town government hospital will be kept open round the clock during the Poson week to attend to emergency situations.
The Red Cross, Saukyadhana Movement, St. John's Ambulance Service, Ayurvedic Saukyadana Movement and International Medical Care Centre will attend to the first aid and emergency treatments of the devotees.
Information centres will be opened at Mahamewnawa, Siriasangabo meditation centre, Mirisawetiya, Thuparamaya and Sri Maha bodhi.
