A new programme has been implemented to provide facilities for the disabled devotees who come to worship the historic Jethawanarama Chaithya in Anuradhapura. A special bridge was opened providing access to the Chaithya by wheel chairs.
It has been built on the instructions of Registrar of the Jethawanarama Temple Ihalahal-millewe Rathanapala Thera.
The Central Cultural Fund has donated two million rupees for the construction of the bridge. Director General of the Fund Professor Krishantha Gunawardena was present on the occasion.
