A private Double Decker bus joined the fleet of passenger transport services of the country yesterday. The first private Double Decker private passenger bus commenced its journey yester from Kottawa. It operates between Kottawa and Pettah on the 138 route.
The bus can accommodate 77 passengers and it has been produced in Sri Lanka. This bus which created history in the country, is owned by Mr. Pradeep Kumara Elvitigala. Chairman of Road Transport Passenger Authority Amila Ranmandala joined the inauguration journey.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
